(WORLD RECORDS – WOWTIMES) The Thang Nghia Lion Dance Team, belonging to the Shaolin Orthodox Thai Ly Phat school, has had a formation and development process in Vietnam for 43 years.
Thai Ly Phat originated from the late Qing dynasty in the Guangdong region of China. Thai Ly Phat is a martial arts school that combines the essence of three major schools of that time: the Tai family, the Li family, and the Buddha family. Thai Ly Phat was founded on the principle of using and harmonizing the Tai family’s boxing techniques, the Li family’s horse stances, and the Buddha family’s palm techniques.

(Records – VietKings) On the morning of August 7, 2022, at Thang Nghia Ancestral Hall (District 11, Ho Chi Minh City), the Vietnam Records Organization – VietKings awarded the Vietnamese record certificate and the Certificate of Merit for the Record Value to the Thang Nghia Lion Dance Team for their contributions to the development of the Thai Ly Phat school in Vietnam.

On behalf of the District 11 People’s Committee, I am deeply impressed and respect the traditional and culturally profound characteristics of the martial arts and lion dance school (Thang Nghia – Thai Ly Phat) through its 40 years of development, maintenance, and existence alongside time and history.

It was a great honor and thrilling to attend the ceremony recognizing the Vietnam Record of the Thang Nghia Lion Dance Team’s ancestral hall.
With the moral and tradition of “When drinking water, think of its source,” Master Dân and his disciples, along with the benefactors of the Thang Nghia Team, have created a miracle by building and establishing an ancestral hall for their team.

Organizing a national-level record certification is no small feat. Through this achievement, I hope Master Huynh Chi Dan and his disciples will strive to develop the ancestral hall to achieve even more success in the future.
